In 2001, Excel Propane's third office opened up in Hart, MI. A two-acre plot of land was purchased along Polk Road less than a ½ mile from the US-31 Hwy Exit 149 for Hart. The new office building was constructed and two 30,000 gallon storage tanks were installed. The office location provided us with a great opportunity to service the Lakeshore communities in Oceana and Muskegon County, ranging from Whitehall to Ludington.
The office started with just a manager and driver. As more and more customers joined Excel from our Hart office, the team there grew. We had a stroke of good luck with our most experienced front office CSR deciding to move near the new office and join the Hart team! She is still working at the office today. We now have a talented and dedicated team of drivers, service techs, and CSRs working out of the Hart office and providing the best service possible to our customers.
Fun fact to add about Oceana County is that it is home to the National Asparagus Festival! Even better, the spouse of one of our drivers actually was crowned the Asparagus Queen one year. We recommend heading over to Open Hearth Grill (an Excel customer) or La Fiesta (great Mexican food) during Asparagus season and getting some deep fried Asparagus.
