In 2004, a 30,000 gallon storage tank was installed on a piece of property off M-37 Hwy, just south of downtown Newaygo. This became Excel Propane’s Newaygo Storage Facility. While it does not have a full-time staff working 8am-5pm, the facility is used everyday in the winter to refill our Bobtail delivery trucks and restock our service trucks. The location allowed us to expand southeast of our Fremont office to better service areas such as Grant, Howard City, and Sand Lake.
Less than a mile south of our Newaygo site, was another local family owned propane company called Baker’s Propane. 12 years after opening our Newaygo facility we had the opportunity to purchase Baker’s Propane as the family was ready to exit the business. It turned out to be a great partnership of two family propane businesses. We were in an excellent position to service their customers thanks to our Newaygo facility.
The Newaygo location is managed and overseen by our Fremont office manager.
